Virginia Blumenthal, Vice President - Area 2
Virginia Blumenthal, an attorney, community leader and graduate of RCC, has served on the Board of Trustees since her first election in 2006.
As founding partner of Blumenthal Law Offices - the first woman-owned law firm in the Riverside area - Ms. Blumenthal has more than 40 years of trial experience and is recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 litigators in the United States.
Ms. Blumenthal has been named Alumnus of the Year by RCCD and Citizen of the Year by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce. She also received the Krieger Meritorious Service Award for outstanding community service - the highest honor of the Riverside County Bar Association.
In 2019, she argued before the California Supreme Court - a rarity for trial attorneys - in a precedent-setting case (People v. Aranda). Three months later, the state high court issued a 6-1 decision in Ms. Blumenthal's favor.
Ms. Blumenthal serves as President of the Riverside County Philharmonic and is a founder of Riverside County's High School Mock Trial program. She was named Riverside County Woman of the Year by the California Legislature and has received the NAACP Law & Justice Award; the Honorary Life Member Award from the Fraternal Order of Police (Riverside, Lodge 8); the YWCA Women of Achievement Award; and the Gold Key Award from Soroptimist International of Riverside.
Over the years, her record of service has been honored by city, county, state and federal elected officials. Ms. Blumenthal, who lives in Riverside, has four children and eight grandchildren.
