Bookstores at Moreno Valley College, Norco College Get Makeovers
01/16/2025
The bookstores at Moreno Valley College and Norco College, operated by Barnes & Noble, have been revamped to better serve students.
The refreshed spaces, set to launch in spring 2025, are designed to be hubs for events, studying, and relaxation. They will host weekly activities and carry general reading books similar to those found at off-site Barnes & Noble stores, as well as snacks and beverages.
Both bookstores feature:
-
-
- Study spaces accommodating up to 10 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Outlets to charge devices, a whiteboard with markers and an eraser, and a selection of board games.
- Author events spotlighting works by students, faculty, classified professionals, alums, and community members.
- Plans for children’s reading corners with story time sessions for students and community members with young children.
-
Both projects were student-driven and developed in response to campus feedback. At
Moreno Valley College, the upgrades reflect the Mountain Lion spirit, while Norco
College’s updates cater to the Mustang community.
Moreno Valley College is already gearing up for its first author event of the semester, scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, from noon to 2 p.m. The bookstore will feature “Journey of a Butterfly,” written by MVC alum Adrian White. This event is a celebration of alum success and the first of many that will bring the refreshed space to life.
The bookstores are open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Special thanks go to the Barnes & Noble bookstore teams and the colleges’ team members who brought these student-centered visions to life.
