Information About Local Measure CC
At its August 6th meeting, the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees unanimously placed Measure CC – the Riverside Community College District Career Preparation, Affordable Higher Education Measure on the on the upcoming November 5th ballot.
With the skyrocketing cost of four-year universities- more than six times more expensive than community colleges, more local students and families are relying on the Riverside Community College District as an affordable alternative for quality education and job training.
If enacted, Measure CC would increase opportunities for local students to earn college credits and certifications, and learn job skills at an affordable price, and then transfer to four-year colleges and universities without generating crushing debt, make basic and needed repairs to aging classroom facilities, and expand job training programs and partnerships with local employers.
Measure CC requires public disclosure of all spending, independent annual financial and performance audits, and must follow a legally-binding project list, accessible here (link to project list). All Measure CC funds will be used for our local community colleges and cannot be taken by county, state or federal governments.
