Celebrating 30-Years of Student, College, and Regional Transformation
03/11/2021
March 13, 2021 marks Norco College's 30-Years of Transformation and establishment in the community. Riverside Community College leaders first began to dream about a branch campus in the area and on June 4, 1985, that dream was realized when more than 141 acres of U.S. government-owned land—the site that would become Norco College—were acquired by RCCD for one dollar to build a satellite campus.
Since its inception, Norco College has grown exponentially to meet the needs of the communities served. To celebrate this milestone, Norco College music students Damian Navarro and Isaiah Villar, and assistant professor Brady Kerr, wrote and produced this original jingle.
It is hard to believe that Norco College opened its doors in 1991, with approximately 500 students enrolled,” said President Monica Green, Ed.D. “Today, the College is home to over 16,000 students, and counting.”
The yearlong celebration begins today through March 2022 with the launch of the 30 for 30 campaign. To celebrate 30-years of transformation, Norco College is inviting the college community to give $30 towards the Silver Scholarship, which supports one eligible student a year to receive up to $1,000 for tuition and books.
College students face a myriad of challenges as they work towards their educational goals. Listen to alumni, Sarah Estrada share her story about how the Silver Scholarship made her dreams possible. Her story is an example of how contributions really do make a BIG impact in students' lives.
Visit the 30-Years of Transformation webpage to make a gift, view historical timelines, videos, stories, or share your favorite Norco College memory.
Let's celebrate 30 incredible years of student, college, and regional transformation
together. Cheers!
