Community Activist, Financial Advisor to be Honored at President's Dinner

​​Jamil Dada, a financial advisor for Provident Bank and a community activist, will be presented with Moreno Valley College's President's Award at the College's President's Dinner on Thursday, October 3, at March Field Air Museum at 5:30 pm.

Dada, who has worked for Provident Bank since 1996, has dedicated his life to workforce development and supporting the military. Since 2005, Dada has served on the California Workforce Development Board and held leadership positions with the National Association of Workforce Boards, the California Green Collar Jobs Council, City of Riverside's Workforce Advisory Panel and the Riverside County Workforce Investment Board. 

He is often called upon to testify before Congress and state committees on workforce development within Southern California, the state and nation. He also serves as president of the March Field Air Museum board.

“Jamil Dada is a community leader and patriot dedicated to his country, state and community,” Robin Steinback, Ph.D., president, Moreno Valley College, said in making the announcement as Dada as this year's recipient. “He has worked for many years with untiring devotion and limitless energy on behalf of economic development and empowerment of our Moreno Valley community and the greater Inland Empire. His long and ongoing commitment to the development of Moreno Valley College is a testament to this devotion.” 

As an immigrant from Pakistan, Dada was born in India and came to the United States to study business at the University of Southern California. He went on to open a business, became a US citizen, something he cites as one of his proudest moments in his life, and began a life of community service to the Inland Empire. 

Dada has been involved with Moreno Valley College from Day 1. He was there on the day that John Coudures, Jr. and his family handed over the deed to the property where the College now sits. He was there the day District leadership turned over the first spade of dirt. And he has been there as the College has grown…providing leadership and expertise. ​

“Jamil Dada is a future thinking, inspirational leader, who has worked for many years with untiring devotion and seemingly limitless energy on behalf of economic development and empowerment of our Moreno Valley community,” Steinback said. “His ongoing commitment to the development of Moreno Valley College is a testament to his future thinking.”​
