Each year, the nation's more than 1,400 community colleges are ranked by national publications on a variety of standards. Riverside City College continues to be recognized as a top institution of higher education serving a diverse student body.
This month, The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education Magazine ranked RCC as one of the nation's Top 25 Community Colleges for Hispanics. The national publication produces a special edition yearly that features Top 25 lists covering the growth of Hispanic students in higher education. The magazine ranks institutions on a number of factors, such as enrollment and degrees granted to Hispanics. RCC ranked 4th in the nation for associate degrees awarded and 11th in enrollment of Hispanic students.
The Hispanic Outlook on Higher Education and other publications have consistently acknowledged RCC - a Department of Education designated Hispanic-Serving Institution - as one of the top community colleges for Hispanics in the United States.
In December, Diverse Issues in Higher Education's Top 100 Producers of Associate Degrees 2020 ranked RCC second in the country for awarding associate degrees in kinesiology to Hispanics and associate degrees in kinesiology to minority students overall. The College also ranked third awarding the highest number of kinesiology degrees to African American students. In total, RCC earned ranking in 10 categories.
“Educational partners, employers, our community, and most of all our students already recognize the level of excellence that RCC provides," President Gregory Anderson said. “These national rankings confirm that students achieve academic and career success at Riverside City College."
