RCCD Colleges to Hold Graduations On June 9

The Riverside Community College District colleges will celebrate graduation on Friday, June 9, on their respective campuses.

Moreno Valley College will hold ceremonies at College Park, adjacent to the campus, at 6 pm. Norco College's ceremony will take place at its sports complex at 6 pm. Riverside City College will celebrate its graduating class with three celebrations - 9 am, 1 and 4 pm - in Landis Performing Art Center.

For the seventh consecutive year, Moreno Valley College's graduating class surpassed 1,000 graduates with 1,591 students scheduled to receive either a degree or certificate. As a class, the graduates earned 1,500 associate degrees and 732 certificates. Many students graduate with more than one associate degree. Over 100 graduates (138) will earn Great Distinction for grade point average of 3.7 or higher. The College's youngest graduate is 17 years old and its oldest is 73, the fourth straight year an individual 70 or older earned a completion award. The Middle College, a program that allows high school juniors and seniors to complete their last two years of schooling at the College, earning their high school diploma and an associate degree, will graduate 59 students.

Norco College's graduating class totals 1,217 students. Collectively, the students will be awarded 2,249 associate degrees and 393 certificates. Sixty-four graduates will complete their studies with 4.0 GPAs and 549 will receive distinction for concluding their studies with a GPA of 3.3 or higher. The College's John F. Kennedy ​Middle College H​igh School will see 69 students graduate, including one who is 16 years of age, with both their high school diploma and a college completion award. The Prison Partnership Program at the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco will celebrate as 54 students successfully completed their studies. The College's oldest graduate is 67 years young.

At Riverside City College, 3,251 students make up the College's 2023 graduating class. This year's class earned 4,187 degrees and 854 certificates. Fifty-nine graduates are Veterans, and the class will graduate an 18-year-old as well as a 74-year-old student. Students graduating with Great Distinction total 402. Those 402 students earned 619 degrees. Another 831 graduates - with a GPA between 3.3 and 3.7 - accumulated 1,170 degrees.

Numbers could change as final exams, which are scheduled for this week (June 5-9), are held and grades recorded.​
