Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Foundation has received a $100,000 grant from Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation to support Riverside City College’s (RCC) School of Nursing in renovating a key laboratory. The funds will be used to purchase modular, flexible furniture that enhances hands-on learning, simulation-based exercises, and collaborative training for RCC nursing students.

The renovated lab, Room 252 in the Nursing Building, will provide adaptable workstations that allow faculty to seamlessly transition between individual, group, and technology-driven learning activities. These upgrades are designed to improve student engagement, clinical decision-making, and readiness for real-world healthcare settings.

“RCC’s School of Nursing is committed to preparing skilled professionals to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Inland Empire,” said Vanessa Franco, RCCD Foundation development officer. “This generous support from Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation ensures our students can train in a modern, interactive environment that reflects the realities of today’s healthcare workforce.”

The nursing program serves more than 960 students annually and has maintained accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) since 1981. In 2023, graduates achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam, highlighting the program’s excellence and its impact on the local healthcare system.
