Eric Bishop, Ed.D.

Eric Bishop, Ed.D., is interim president of the Riverside City College, in Riverside, Calif. He began that role in August of 2025. He previously served as interim vice chancellor of educational services for the Riverside Community College District from July 2024 through August 2025.
As president of RCC, Bishop leads a 19,000+ student public community college as chief executive officer, responsible for all operations and functions.
Prior to joining the Riverside Community College District, he served as interim vice president of enrollment management for the University of La Verne, in La Verne, California. He began that role in 2022 after serving as Superintendent/President of the Ohlone Community College District (2020-2022), with campuses in Fremont and Newark, California.
Bishop is familiar with the Inland Empire having served 13 years at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga in a variety of roles, including, associate superintendent of student services and legislative engagement, dean of the Fontana Campus, interim dean of Physical Education and Athletics, director of Student Discipline and Grievance, and Vice President of Student Services.
His career also includes full-time teaching as associate professor of journalism at the University of La Verne. He has taught continuously in the undergraduate and graduate level, including the last 10 years as a lecturer for San Diego State University in its Community College Leadership Ed.D. program.
He has also served in various community roles including the Chief Student Services Officers Board for the California Community College system, Fontana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the La Verne Bonita Band Booster Association, board member for Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana, serving the last four years as board chair, and numerous other chambers of commerce and non-profit boards.
Bishop has a doctorate in organizational leadership (Ed.D.), master’s in communications and bachelor’s in journalism all from the University of La Verne.
