The Riverside Community College District Career Preparation, Affordable Higher Education Measure
At its August 6th meeting, the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees unanimously placed Measure CC – the Riverside Community College District Career Preparation, Affordable Higher Education Measure on the on the upcoming November 5th ballot.
The cost of attending four-year universities is over six times that of attending a local community college. If enacted, Measure CC would increase opportunities for local students to earn college credits and transfer to 4-year universities without generating crushing debt.
Measure CC will upgrade career programs and partnerships with local employers, so students have increased access to jobs in nursing and healthcare, police, firefighting, construction trades, social work, teaching, technology, engineering and more.
Measure CC funding can help remove asbestos, mold and lead paint; upgrade outdated electrical wiring and gas and sewer lines; fix leaky roofs; and improve earthquake safety at RCCD’s oldest buildings to make sure all students learn in classrooms that are clean and safe.
